Choose by Turn Shape, Width and Terrain

The Stöckli Montero collection is designed for all-mountain performance with a strong piste focus. The Montero AS is the short-turn specialist, while the Montero AX is the balanced all-rounder. The wider Montero AR is built for medium-to-large turns and greater confidence away from perfectly groomed snow.

The Montero AR Pro uses the same 128-84-114 geometry and length range as the AR, but adds a premium Titec aluminum surface, Racing Sidewalls Black and Race Base. The Montero AW is the women-specific model, combining an 80 mm waist with Softflex and a lighter, more approachable all-mountain construction.

CURRENT 2026–2027 TERMS

Stöckli Montero Technology Glossary

AMR

All Mountain Rocker

A 250 mm rocker with 50 mm height that improves turnability and adds a more playful feel on tracked pistes, spring snow and occasional off-piste terrain.

TTF

Tip and Tail Flex

S-shaped notches at the front and rear of the Titanal soften flex and torsion for more comfort, easier steering and improved control during direction changes.

ACL

Adaptive Contact Length

The shovel’s widest point is moved forward so the contact point advances as edge angle increases, preserving playfulness while adding stability and grip.

FEC

Full Edge Contact

The widest points are positioned farther forward and rearward for faster turn initiation and a longer contact surface when the ski is edged.

TR

Tail Rocker

A longer, flatter tail rocker reduces contact length for added playfulness while maintaining strong grip when the ski is edged.

SME LIGHT

Solid Metal Edge Light

The same width as Solid Metal Edge with a shallower insertion method to save weight while maintaining durability and multiple tuning cycles.

FTC

Flex Torsion Control

S-shaped aluminum notches at the shovel and tail soften flex and torsion for easier turn entry, exit and directional control.

RSB

Racing Sidewalls Black

A harder phenolic racing sidewall that increases stability and supports faster, more direct power transmission.

RBA

Race Base

A higher graphite content improves glide, abrasion resistance and resistance to dust and particle absorption.

TITEC

Titanal Technology

The design is printed directly onto the powder-coated Titanal top layer, reducing weight and creating the distinctive aluminum appearance.

SF

Softflex

Thinner layers and lighter materials create a softer flex that is easier to bend and requires less effort.

CORE

All Mountain Core

A high proportion of lightweight poplar keeps the ski light and supple, while beech provides stability in demanding terrain.

BUYING QUESTIONS

2026–2027 Stöckli Montero FAQ

Which Stöckli Montero is the most versatile?

The Montero AX is the broadest all-around choice. Its 80 mm waist, five lengths and 13.5-to-17.5-meter radius range balance groomer performance with changing snow and terrain.

What is the difference between the Montero AR and AR Pro?

They share the same 128-84-114 dimensions, five lengths and radii. The AR Pro adds a premium Titec aluminum surface, Race Base, Racing Sidewalls Black and Flex Torsion Control.

What is the difference between the Montero AR and AX?

The AR is wider at 84 mm and is designed for medium-to-large turns with greater high-speed stability. The AX is 80 mm underfoot and offers a more balanced, adaptable turn range.

Which Montero is best for short turns?

Which Montero model is designed for women?

The Montero AW is developed specifically for women. It uses Softflex, the All Mountain Core and an 80 mm waist for comfortable, controlled skiing in changing conditions.

Are Montero skis only for groomed pistes?

No. Stöckli classifies the line as all-mountain/piste. All Mountain Rocker and the wider AX, AR and AR Pro geometries provide versatility for tracked snow, spring conditions and occasional off-piste skiing.
