We tested the 178cm Scot
Schmidt Stormriders in mixed conditions here
in the East. Normal Vermont stuff - heavy powder, chopped
up wet snow, and skied off frozen granular ( ice
! ).
- Well, they were simply the
best skis that we skied on all day.
- Chris,
a great freestyle and bump skier, says " they
float and they carve".
- I
thought that they turned easy and would blast through
crud with great stability.
- I always look for
a high performance ski that anyone can have fun
on-fast,
hooks up, and turns.
- Travis, a Super-G winning
speed skier, tested all the best skis that
day. I
said, Travis, you have to try the Scot Schmid
- Travis
waited for the one pair available to come
back and we went back up to the top of the
mountain. We skied down about half
a mile and stopped. Travis looks at
me with a big grin and says " Dad, I'm done
testing skis. I'm not
giving these things back."
- He buys his own pair
and sets them up with the World Cup Marker 18.0 bindings and
W.C. Piston Plate, and takes them out west. It's
the " Super-G Powder Ski ".
- We all loved this
ski and want you to know that this is not a difficult
ski to turn. It has a supple tip, a round
flexing mid body, and a powerful tail. In the
world of wide skis, this is the real deal.
- Scot
Schmidt put his name on this thing for a very good
reason. IT ROCKS !
